The organization has entered into a long-lerm lease lgreement with the Unified Social Security Institution (EFKA), according to which the building, where Maria Callas used to live, located at 61 Patission Street, is granted to the Academy for 30 years, while the organization has undertaken the obligation to restore it and make the necessary modifications, within 3 years, so that the Academy may start its operation.
The total cost is expected to range between 3,600,000 and 4,100,000 euros. The preliminary architectural study drawn up by A. N. Tombazis & Associates Architects was conducted in 2007. The main architectural study started in October 2018 by the offices of Nick Lazaridis, Architect, Andreas Spiliopoulos, Engineer and Ioannis Pappas, Engineer, with the aim to complete it by the end of January 2019.
Consequently, the organization is starting the necessary works to restore the building and make the changes needed, so that it becomes suitable to house the Academy.
