Dear friends of Lyric Art,

We invite you to join our great effort to save the building where Maria Callas lived – whose name is the epitome of Lyric Art – and to renovate it in order to house the Academy of Lyric Art Maria Callas.

Since 2000, our Association, which was then called “Association for the Building of the Opera House and the Academy of Lyric Art Maria Callas”, accomplished its mission in 2018 to acquire the building under a long-term lease, and today is focused on its restoration and establishing the Academy of Lyric Art, which will bear the name of our greatest opera singer.

The mission of this institution is to protect and preserve Lyric Art and to provide postgraduate studies of the highest level to young talented artists.

The Academy of Lyric Art Maria Callas is unique of its kind, as it encompasses all the skills related to opera (Phonetics, Melodrama, Musical Preparation, Music Direction, Direction, Scenography, Costume Design, Dramatics, Composition, Libretto).

Our Association consists of important and renowned musicians, writers, painters, legal advisors and prominent personalities from social and cultural life.
